Terms & Conditions

Disclaimer

Use of the sauna and cold plunge facilities is done so at your own risk. You should contact your GP if at all in doubt about safely using the sauna or cold plunge.

​

By making a booking you are agreeing to adhere to our terms and conditions.

 

You must not use the sauna if any of the following applies to you:

  • High or low blood pressure or any heart or circulatory disorder

  • Epilepsy or diabetes

  • You are pregnant

  • Prone to dizziness or fainting

​

If any of the following applies to you (please note, this is not a comprehensive list), we advise you to seek your GP’s advice before using the sauna or cold plunge:

  • Recent heart attack or stroke

  • Cardiovascular conditions

  • Asthma or breathing conditions

  • Arterial disease

  • Joint or muscle injury

  • You're taking any medications

Under 16s are currently not permitted.

Alcohol and smoking are not permitted in or around the sauna.​ We reserve the right to refuse entry to intoxicated persons or those who may pose a health and safety risk. Refunds will not be offered to anyone refused admission.

Puffin Sauna takes no responsibility for the damage or loss of customers’ property.

​​Health & Safety​​

  • Jewellery should be removed before entering the sauna

  • When entering and exiting the sauna, be aware of people behind the door

  • Wood should only be loaded into the stove by a member of staff

  • Take care when moving around the sauna, particularly when moving between levels. There is a barrier surround the stove which you can hold on to, but any stumble can still be dangerous

  • When pouring water on the rocks, start at the point furthest away to prevent steam from scalding you

  • The wood-fired stove and surrounding areas can get extremely hot. Do not touch the stove, stove door, chimney flue, sauna rocks or surrounding heat shields at any time

  • Take care when entering and exiting the plunge barrels. Let a member of staff know if you'd like a hand getting in and out

  • Take care moving around the site, there are usually wet surfaces which can be slippery. We recommend wearing flip flops/sliders/crocs when not in the sauna or plunge barrels

Sauna etiquette

  • Only swimwear may be worn in the sauna, nudity is not permitted

  • Footwear of any kind are not permitted in the sauna at any time

  • Ensure your feet are clean before entering the sauna

  • You must sit on a towel in the sauna at all times

  • No phones, cameras or similar devices are permitted in the sauna

  • Only the water provided may be poured onto the rocks, no other liquids, oils or similar. Ask others when you do so

  • You must shower before using the cold plunge

  • When inside the sauna, ensure you are being considerate of your fellow sauna users regarding the topics and volume of conversation

These rules are to ensure the enjoyment, health and safety of all users and must be adhered to at all times. Therefore, we reserve the right to remove anyone continuing to behave contrary to the sauna etiquette. Refund will not be offered to anyone removed from the site.

 

Cancellation Policy

Bookings may be rescheduled or cancelled up to 48 hours before your appointment using the link in your confirmation email.

Cancelled bookings up to 48 hours before your appointment will receive a credit for the full value of the session to your account. If you would like a refund instead, please contact us via email. Refunds are subject to a £2 admin fee.

​

Bookings can be transferred to another name up to the time of your appointment. Please contact us by email to do this.

 

Weather

If we are unable to open due to weather conditions or other circumstances outside of our control, we will notify you as soon as possible to reschedule your session. Refunds can also be requested if your session is cancelled, in which case the refund will not be subject to the £2 admin fee.
