We’ll say hello, let you know of the etiquette to keep you and your fellow sauna goers safe and happy, then the time is yours!
We recommend arriving 5-10 minutes early so you can get ready and maximise sauna time.
Remove all jewellery, it can get really hot and burn. We also recommend removing watches and any other accessories.
Avoid any heavy meals and alcohol beforehand.
Arrive hydrated if you can, you'll sweat a lot!
There is no best way to sauna! The key is to do what feels good, whether that means 2 or 20 minutes in the sauna.
If you’ve never tried it before, we recommend warming up in the sauna until you start to feel the warmth all around and through your body, then cooling down outside, and repeat the process. If you start to feel any sort of discomfort, that’s a sure sign to have a break and cool down.
Make sure to drink plenty of water and listen to your body!
Nope, you should do whatever feels comfortable and enjoyable – many people cool down just by using the shower or the fresh Scottish breeze.
You can find our full sauna etiquette in our Terms and Conditions, but here are the main things:
Only swimwear may be worn in the sauna, nudity is not permitted
Always sit on a towel and take it out with you when you cool down. This allows others the opportunity to change seats if they wish
Keep the volume low. Conversation is not discouraged as we are a community space, but remember that the sauna is a place for peace and relaxation. For this reason we do not allow phones, cameras or similar inside the sauna
Clean your feet before re-entering the sauna. No footwear is permitted
Ask others before putting water on the rocks
No essential oils or similar unless provided by a member of staff
For everything you do, be kind and considerate of your fellow sauna goers.
